Hip-hop Open Studio

Hip-Hop Open Studio was a two-day research and collaboration organised by Rachel Sheil – a hip-hop and contemporary dancer, member of Dance Ireland. On the last two days of her residency Rachel opened the studio to dancers from various backgrounds to share their skills, teach each other and (contact) improvise.

Dancers present: Rachel SheilErnest Ray, Alex O’Neill, Mateusz SzczerekPaul EaZyox, Tobi Balogun, Louise O’Shea and me with a mix of styles from house, popping and locking, crump to contemporary, tribal fusion and contact improvisation.
